This June, endurance cyclist Dr Sarah Ruggins will take on a solo record attempt from Tarifa, Spain, to Nordkapp, Norway — the southernmost point of mainland Europe to its northernmost tip.

Covering more than 6,000km across nine countries and tackling approximately 35,000 metres of climbing, Sarah will be aiming to beat the current record of 16 days, 20 hours and 59 minutes. To do so, she'll need to spend up to 22 hours a day in the saddle, battling everything from the scorching heat of southern Spain to sub-zero temperatures in Scandinavia.

We're proud to be supporting Sarah's One Way North (OWN2026) challenge by providing a selection of Muc-Off cleaning, lubrication and tubeless essentials to help keep her bike running smoothly throughout the attempt.

Supporting Performance Across 6,000km

To help Sarah stay rolling, we'll be supplying key products from our tubeless, lubrication and bike care ranges, helping her manage the demands of thousands of kilometres on a wide variety of road surfaces and in rapidly changing weather conditions.

From hot, dusty roads in Spain to wet and unpredictable conditions further north, maintaining a fast, efficient and dependable setup will be critical throughout the journey.

A Rider Who Knows How to Push the Limits

Sarah arrives at OWN2026 with an impressive track record in endurance cycling. In May 2025, she completed the John O'Groats–Land's End–John O'Groats route in 5 days, 11 hours and 14 minutes, securing the outright record and cementing her place among the sport's most accomplished ultra-distance athletes.

Her story extends far beyond cycling. As a teenager, Sarah developed a rare neurological disease that left her unable to use her limbs and reliant on full-time care. Years later, cycling became a key part of her recovery, independence and return to elite performance.

Riding for World Bicycle Relief

Alongside the record attempt, Sarah will be raising funds for World Bicycle Relief, helping provide durable bicycles that improve access to education, healthcare and economic opportunity in communities where distance remains a major barrier.

It's a cause that aligns closely with the transformative power of cycling, demonstrating how two wheels can create opportunities and change lives.

Follow the Journey

Sarah's attempt begins on 5 June 2026 from Tarifa, Spain.

Everyone at Muc-Off will be following her progress closely as she heads north towards Nordkapp, Norway, in pursuit of a new record.

We wish Sarah the very best of luck and are proud to play a small part in supporting what promises to be an extraordinary challenge.
